Marvel Studios Confirms Spider-Man 4 with Tom Holland: What to Expect from the Upcoming Film

Marvel fans rejoice: Spider-Man 4 is officially happening! Following the success of the third instalment, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which raked in over $1.9 billion worldwide, the film's producer, Kevin Feige, confirmed that a fourth movie in the series is now in the works at Marvel Studios with Tom Holland set to return as Peter Parker.

Holland's Spider-Man will be the first in the franchise to have a fourth standalone movie, with Tobey Maguire's trilogy running from 2002 to 2007 and Andrew Garfield's two films in 2012 and 2014.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Feige confirmed that the script for Spider-Man 4 is currently being written and that the story is set. He also revealed that the studio has big ideas for the film, stating: "All I will say is that we have the story. We have big ideas for that, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now."

Feige also shared details about other upcoming Marvel projects, including Deadpool 3, which will be Marvel's first R-rated film. Ryan Reynolds is set to reprise his role as the popular anti-hero alongside new cast member Emma Corrin and Hugh Jackman, who will return to his role as Wolverine. Feige spoke of the "full circle" moment of working with Jackman again, having sat behind the camera at his audition for the first X-Men movie in 2000.

The producer also gave further details on Harrison Ford's MCU debut as Thaddeus Ross in Captain America: New World Order, where he will play the President of the United States. He spoke of the dynamic between Captain America and the president in the film, which he called "incredible."

Feige also confirmed that filming for the Blade film, starring Mahershala Ali, will start later this year. The project had been delayed after original director Bassam Tariq was replaced by Yann Demange in November.

Marvel fans have plenty to look forward to with these upcoming projects, and it's clear that the studio has big plans for Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
